Walmart, Sam's Club and Operation Homefront to Host Saluting Heroes Together Event in Military City, USA
BENTONVILLE, Ark. – May 21, 2013 – Walmart, Sam's Club and Operation Homefront will host a community-wide event Memorial Day weekend in San Antonio to help pay tribute and honor the brave men and women who have or are currently serving in the U.S. military.
Local Walmart associates who served in the military will be available for interviews regarding Walmart's Veterans Welcome Home hiring commitment as well as their personal experiences working at Walmart and transitioning back into civilian life.

WHY:

Walmart will launch the Veterans Welcome Home Commitment on Memorial Day, May 27th, to offer a job to any honorably discharged veteran within his or her first 12 months. The company plans to hire more than 100,000 veterans over the next five years. As part of this commitment, Walmart has set a goal of a 30-day hiring process – 30 days from job application to hire – for any veteran who qualifies.
