TORONTO, Sept. 3, 2013 /CNW/ - CI Financial Corp. ("CI") today reported assets under management of
$83.8 billion as of August 31, 2013, a new month-end record. Total
assets were $108.8 billion.
CI's assets under management grew by $11.5 billion or 15.8% year over
year, and were up 0.1% for the month of August 2013. In comparison, the
S&P/TSX Composite Total Return Index was up 9.3% over the 12-month
period and 1.5% in August.
CI's assets under management at August 31, 2013 of $83.8 billion
represented an increase of $2.1 billion or 2.6% over the average assets
under management for the second quarter of 2013 and an increase of
$11.2 billion or 15.4% over the average for fiscal year 2012.
"CI has continued to post strong sales through the summer, thanks to
good fund performance and a diverse and appealing product lineup," said
Stephen A. MacPhail, President and Chief Executive Officer. "CI is
extremely well positioned to compete as we enter the fall season, with
products that include the new and innovative G5|20 Series, designed for
the retirement market."
CI also reported assets under administration at Assante Wealth
Management (Canada) Ltd. of $25.0 billion at August 31, 2013, an
increase of 12.7% year over year.
