Vancouver, British Columbia, December 4, 2013 - Avanti Energy Inc. (TSX Venture: AVN) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rommel A. Gallo to the board of directors of the Company, effective December 3, 2013. Mr. Gallo is a Vice President of Fieldstone Partners (www.fieldstone.com), a private equity and financial advisory firm based in Houston, Texas that over the past 23 years has participated in over 150 successful transactions aggregating over $5 billion in value.
Mr. Gallo leads Fieldstone's Latin America practice and focuses his work primarily in the global oil and gas industry. Previously, he was an energy investment banker, first with Wells Fargo Securities and later with Citigroup, where he provided financial and strategic advisory services to oil and gas companies from around the world, including Latin America. In his roles at Fieldstone, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo, Mr. Gallo has executed on over $20 billion worth of advisory and capital raising assignments in the global oil and gas industry. He was previously a public finance attorney at Greenberg Traurig in Miami, where he represented local governments in the financing of large-scale capital projects. His community and charitable work includes active membership in the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations and serving as an advisor to the 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign for the Amigos de las Americas, a non-profit organization that hosts and funds programs for young adults to volunteer and lead innovative community development projects throughout Latin America.
Mr. Gallo is a graduate of Princeton University, where he studied at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and minored in Latin American Studies. He also earned a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School Of Business. Mr. Gallo is a native of Nicaragua and is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
