Honda Announces Start of Sales of CG110 in Nigeria, New Small-Sized and More Affordable Motorcycle

HMC

Tokyo, Dec 10, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - Honda Manufacturing (Nigeria) Ltd., a motorcycle production and sales subsidiary of Honda in Nigeria, today (at 9:00am local time, 17:00 Japan time) introduced a new CG110 motorcycle model, which went on sale today in Nigeria.

The CG110 is a new 110cc-class model developed based on the comprehensive pursuit of fuel economy and durability to accommodate the various customer needs and road conditions in Nigeria. Leveraging Honda's global network, the affordability of Honda motorcycle products was further enhanced for this product, realizing a sales price of approximately 100,000 naira (approximately 65,000 yen*). Honda plans to sell 40,000 units of CG110 annually.

In addition to the CG110, Honda introduced and began sales of two updated 125cc-class models named Ace CB125 and Ace CB125-D which underwent a minor model change. Since their market introduction on September 29, 2011, Ace CB125 has been well received for its excellent fuel economy and practical utility and Ace CB125-D has been well received for its excellent rider comfort and cargo capacity made possible by the adoption of a long seat. By adding an eagerly awaited, highly practical and affordable new model in the 110cc class, the largest segment in the motorcycle market in Nigeria, Honda will strive to further expand its motorcycle sales in Nigeria.

Honda will continue its proactive commitment to accommodate local needs in the production and sales of Honda motorcycle products in the rapidly growing African countries.
