Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that 13 Texas
counties in the past 18 months have selected Tyler’s Odyssey®
integrated courts and justice software solution to modernize county
court processes. Counties using Odyssey Case Manager now make up 55
percent of the population of Texas.
Texas counties selected Odyssey because the system eliminates manual
processes, provides a paperless workflow and delivers data integration
between courts, prosecuting attorneys, law enforcement and corrections,
which creates efficiencies across county offices. The counties that
recently selected Odyssey are Smith, Henderson, Andrews, Childress,
Atascosa, Refugio, Montgomery, Parker, Brazoria, Howard, Morris, Winkler
and San Jacinto. This new group of Odyssey clients includes satisfied
Tyler clients extending their relationship and moving to the Odyssey
case management system, as well as new members of the Tyler family. Of
these 13 counties, 10 have selected Tyler’s Odyssey software as a
service (SaaS) offering.
Each county had its own unique business needs, but most are integrating
their court system with their jail and prosecutors’ offices. The same is
true of most of the more than 50 Odyssey counties in Texas. With this
integration across the court, the jail and the prosecutor’s offices,
counties save staff time and reduce errors by eliminating the need to
duplicate information across multiple systems, and court cases and
inmate processes are managed more efficiently and safely. Having a
single integrated system also allows counties to eliminate paper from
their processes, and provides citizens better access to information
online.
“We are committed to serving court systems of all sizes and our industry
experience makes Tyler the clear leader in the courts and justice
market, with more than 30 years of successfully implementing software in
county and state courts across the country,” said Bruce Graham,
president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “Texas counties are
selecting Odyssey because they value their investment in technology and
Tyler’s evergreen philosophy provides the return on investment they’re
looking for by including all future Odyssey updates as part of the
annual maintenance agreement.”
In addition to now providing the Odyssey case management systems to more
than 50 Texas counties, the Texas Supreme Court recently mandated
e-filing in civil matters and selected Tyler to be the statewide
infrastructure provider for its eFileTexas.gov solution. More than 53
counties are live on the Odyssey-based e-filing platform which now has
more than 60,000 registered users. All 254 counties are anticipated to
be functional on the system by July 2016.
