Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a seven-year software-as-a-service
(SaaS) contract with the Fayette County Board of Education, in
Fayetteville, Georgia, for Tyler’s Munis®
enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The agreement includes
hosting services, support, training and related professional services.
The board of education sought to replace its legacy system with an
integrated ERP solution for the collection, processing, reporting and
analysis of key administrative information across the district. They
wanted a solution that would manage their core operations, including
finance, budget, school-level accounting, procurement, human resources
and payroll. Additionally, they needed software that would interface
with other internal software to ensure consistent data throughout the
organization.
The Fayette County Board of Education chose Munis for its modern
technology with features such as online, real-time and Web-based access
to information along with complete integration throughout the Munis
software. Munis also delivered on the board of education’s need for a
system that is flexible, easy to maintain, reduces paper flow and is
cost-effective to operate. Tyler’s track record of successful Munis
implementations in K-12 school systems also played a key role in the
board of education’s decision.
The cloud-based Munis solution enhances the board of education’s
cost-effectiveness by enabling its technical staff to free up their time
for other projects across the county. Fayette County will benefit from
Tyler’s evergreen perpetual licensing approach that provides regular and
significant, yet manageable, software enhancements without an additional
relicensing or service fee, ensuring all systems are using the latest
technology.
With 3,200 employees, the Fayette County Board of Education is the
county’s largest employer; it serves more than 20,000 students in 24
schools across the communities of Brooks, Fayetteville, Peachtree City,
Tyrone, and Woolsey.
