NEW YORK, May 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- McCann was named
Agency of the Year at the One Show, marking the third time in the last three weeks that the agency has been designated with this
top creative recognition at a major award show. The latest honor follows being named both Agency of the Year and Network of the
Year at last week's ADC Annual Awards and the International ANDY Awards in late April.
"We're incredibly humbled by the One Show Agency of the Year honor, and delighted that all of our major regional offices
were recognized in the awards show," said Rob Reilly, Global Creative Chairman of McCann
Worldgroup.
McCann New York, which won the One Show's Agency of the Year recognition, led accolades with 19 awards, wherein 18 were gold.
Other McCann Worldgroup agencies also contributed to the strong global showing, including those in Barcelona, Colombia, India, Melbourne, Paris, Stockholm, and
Tokyo. More than 20 agencies in the global McCann network were recognized with Merit awards,
representing teams and campaigns spanning over a dozen countries.
"Without the visionary partnerships of our clients we wouldn't have achieved what we have in the past year—whether it's
inspiring kids to become the first explorers on Mars, or using virtual reality to educate adults and children alike on the
dangers of bullying in schools," said Eric Silver, McCann's North American Chief Creative
Officer.
The One Club for Creativity, one of the world's leading organizations devoted to "elevating creative work in all aspects of
advertising and design," sponsors several major creative awards shows, including both the One Show and the ADC (Art Directors
Club) Annual Awards. The ADC and the One Club merged their organizations and awards shows last fall.
"McCann is an iconic agency with an impressive client roster and a long history of producing groundbreaking work," said
Kevin Swanepoel, CEO of The One Club for Creativity. "They have had Best of Show winners like
'Dumb Ways to Die,' and now they have taken VR to a whole new level, from an individual perspective to a group experience.
With 'Field Trip to Mars' McCann resets the bar for creative excellence."
McCann's One Show Awards performance is the latest of many recent top global creative honors won by McCann Worldgroup, which
was ranked in 2016 by The Gunn Report as the world's second most creatively awarded network overall in advertising and
specifically in digital as well. In 2017, the agency won Network of the Year and Agency of the Year honors both at the
International ANDY Awards (where it also won the Best in Show GRANDY award) and the ADC Annual Awards (where it was also named
Digital Agency of the Year and won the coveted ADC Black Cube in Digital for best in discipline for its Lockheed Martin "Field
Trip to Mars" VR campaign).
