Nestlé to Explore Possible Sale, Other Strategic Options for U.S, Confectionery Business
The Company Comments:
Nestlé (OTC: NSRGF) will explore strategic
options for its U.S. confectionery business, including a potential sale, the Swiss company announced. The strategic review covers
the U.S. market only and doesn't include Nestlé's Toll House baking products.
Shares of Hershey Co (NYSE: HSY) and
Mondelez International Inc (NASDAQ: MDLZ)
spiked higher on the news. Both companies could be potential buyers of the Nestle unit.
Hershey closed at $114.88, up $0.49.
Amazon Said to have Interest in Acquiring Slack
The Rumor:
Multiple tech companies, including Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), have approached Slack Technologies regarding a potential takeover, according
to sources as reported by Bloomberg. A deal could value Slack at at least $19 million, the sources said.
Amazon and Slack representatives declined comment on the report.
Amazon closed at $964.17, down $12.30.
ILG Hires Moelis to Explore Potential Merger
The Rumor:
Timeshare provider ILG Inc (NASDAQ: ILG)
is in talks with companies regarding a potential merger, including Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corp (NYSE:VAC)
and Hilton Grand Vacations Inc (NYSE: HGV),
according to sources as reported by Reuters. ILG has hired Moelis & Co (NYSE: MC) to field offers, the sources said.
FrontFour Capital has called on ILG to seek a merger with Marriott Vacations.
Marriott Vacations and Moelis declined comment on the report. ILG and Hilton Grand Vacations did not respond to requests for
comment.
