Cebu City, Philippines--(Newsfile Corp. - October 16, 2017) - UGE International Ltd. (TSXV: UGE) ("UGE"), a global leader in
solar energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sector, announces it has signed a contract to deploy a 500 kW rooftop
solar system for one of the Philippine's leading toy and promotional material manufacturers at one of their facilities in Cavite,
south of Manila.
By converting to solar energy, the Cavite facility will significantly lower its cost of energy, while also reducing volatility
in energy prices and its carbon footprint. The Philippines has some of the highest energy prices in Asia, but the solar system
installed by UGE is sure to provide inexpensive electricity for decades to come.
"Electricity generated by our solar system will provide long term clean power at rates lower than current utility supply," said
Tyler Adkins, Regional Director for UGE. "All around, the facility will have a better energy experience. And, of course, the fact
that it will produce 100% clean energy is a huge win."
The contract is valued at approximately $600,000 USD and the project is expected to be installed over the next eight months.
Once operating will offset 470 tons of carbon annually. Over the system's 25 year lifespan it will offset the equivalent greenhouse
gas emissions of a passenger vehicle driving 28 million miles, enough to drive around the whole world 1,128 times.
