In regards to your statement about share volume not being enough for the Investor in question to have sold his shares: on December 15th, approximately 8 million shares changed hands, or about 23% of the entire float. Since that time, approximately 8 million more shares have changed hands, which in total gives us about 46% of all the shares changing hands since December 15th.
As such, it is quite possible for a single shareholder to have dumped a very large position over the few weeks.
