@Schneps - where did you find the filing showing the options that have been granted to Greywood? can you provide the link? I would be curious to know when the options were granted to understand how long OILS has been engaged with Greywood on a potential deal.

Sorry. Ignore the previous post. That was from 2019.

So they tried to sell previously and was no market for them. I still feel that they are going down the right path. Paul has made it very clear that the offer needs to be in an around $1B. I would take that deal in a heartbeat if it came around.

1 billion? Is that a joke? Serious question.
Comment by RyanB1234 on Aug 26, 2021 2:58pm
Look at previous engagements for future results. 0-30M MJ companies have been acquired for the region of $1B. I also stated that this is the value Paul has put out in the market for naming his sale price. " a billion dollar patent portfolio". Weather that happens now or in the next 12-24 months, still tbd. Again, he's already indicated to the market what it will take to get the deal ...more

A billion dollars is the valuation of the licensing assets/patents and not a sale price they are looking to acheive. That is like saying a mining assets is worth $1.5B but your never going to get that in an acquistion because the asset has to be built out ($). You might get 20-30% of that valuation.
Comment by RyanB1234 on Aug 26, 2021 3:33pm
another example: Lamborghini builds a 1 of 1 car (aka a patent) for $1M... why would they turn around and sell it for $200k-300k... Lamborghini is going to charge a surcharge for their 1 of 1 as it's the only one in the world which will have future value to collectors aka the patent can not be duplicated. If it indeed is the most proficient process in the world for extraction. Why on gods ...more

I don't know about the $1B mark, but I think it can now be considered an old debate. Indeed, as I see it, Nextleaf is about to get at a very interesting crossroad.  We have a three-part company (oil extraction, Glacier Gold, patents), which is great because it limits our financial risk as investor. Should one aspect loose money, the two others are hopefully there to limit our loss ...more

The patents are only exclusive for twenty years. GW Pharma generates $577M a year in revenue and has a stable of upcoming prharmaceuticals. That's why it sold for $7B. We are currently at the very beginning of our revenue growth and are no where near having a $1B valuation. It needs to be proven. In relation to Greywood Partners "selling" the company I may have been incorrect in they ...more

And you don't think that all the American investment in Canadian cannabis companies serves that purpose ahead of US legalization?

Again, Stealth with the dumbest comment on the board for the day. Second only to the other idiot randomly posting unsubstaniated claims. Classic. I come here and other forums to get random insight for a stock i'm STILL invested in. It's like you've all been dumped and you keep posting on your ex girlfriends Facebook so that everyone else knows she made you sad :( Awwww poor little ...more

So you're saying a company is willing to buy this for a billion after seeing how previous billion dollar acquisitions of unproven assets turned out. I'll fill you in on a secret. There's a lot of different methods to extract cannabis. No one is going to buy a billion dollar patent portfolio in order to save a few percent and some time extracting thc/cbd. I'm not saying the patents ...more

Ultimately what NL is trying to sell is ownership of the method to create THE cheapest oil - which can be used in  products and medicines. It will be the primary ingredient for an industry worth close to 100B. Nobody can deny that the rights to something like that isn't worth 1B (considering GW Pharma sold for 7B). Big Pharma and other major companies would easily pay that in order to ...more
