Sona Nanotech Inc > Scientific Notation LOD

Scientific Notation LOD

In the news release they incorrectly  state  the LOD.   If anyone not of  a science type or forgot .

limit of detection (LOD) of 2.1 by 102 TCID50    .  Does not = 2.1   or 2.1  x 102

This actually mean    2.1  x 10 ^ 2     =  2.1  x 100    =   210

  10^2    means   10 to the power of 2   = 100

Sona Nanotech Inc.'s rapid detection, COVID-19 antigen test's laboratory validation studies of performance levels have resulted in a test sensitivity of 96 per cent, test specificity of 96 per cent and a limit of detection (LOD) of 2.1 by 102 TCID50. Sales of the tests will now be permitted under a research-use-only label until full regulatory authority is granted, in relevant territories, at which time the research-use-only label requirement would be lifted, as discussed herein.

Which is incredible !!   And your point is?  Sorry I missed it with all the gasping at your explanation
Comment by buy2009 on Jul 17, 2020 3:41pm
Did you honestly think that some calculated 2.1 x 102 iin a standard format for LOD?  Really! No i didnt think so
Comment by TheeRook on Jul 17, 2020 3:45pm
Look back at all the messages comparing Sonas LOD  to Qdels and BDs.  Claiiming   Sonas  LOD     is better than   Qdels 140  or BDs   110   .

Back off or I am going to forward your posts to Sona's legal department for spreading false information...
Comment by TheeRook on Jul 17, 2020 3:52pm
Wow I'm scared for posting what was released in the   PR News.
Comment by shoosh22 on Jul 17, 2020 3:58pm
Didn't you read what was circulated a few weeks back... Posters, 10 of them in Ontario each fined 35,000. for spreading false information.. A couple of people in B.C. also very heavily fined.. Watch yourself there... . Material News is regulated by CSE and OSE

Maybe U should send a message to SONA  investors Relation that   the PR news formatter is not working "" limit of detection (LOD) of 2.1 by 102 TCID50 "" Should be       2.1  X  10^2    TCID50 SEE  some people do not know Scientific Notation.

You really are scraping the bottom of the barrel. You are pushing Viemed who have nothing to do with testing and BD whose test is so inferior to Sona´s that it´s share price has risen the staggering amount of 6% since it was given FDA approval. The market speaks for itself. Sona jumped 122% on Validation and has risen more than double BD´s rise in the last few days with no news ...more

U seem to not know much.  Same as your name.? Comparing BD with Qdel and Sona is a muggs game. So BD only went up 6%.   That's because this testing is only a small part of the companies revenue.   BD is a huge company.  For Sona this is it's first product to make money. As for  comparing BDs test with Qdels and Sonas.    They all use ...more

The BD test does have a place in the testing spectrum but the following points should be borne in mind: 1. In the battle against Covid and the desire to identify as many +ve carriers as possible, in order to isolate, prevent from travel, allow access to workplace, sporting events etc, the main aim is to try not to miss too many Covid+ve patients. To this end the Sensitivity is much more important ...more

Moemoney, once again you present false info on alternative tests that you maintain are a better alternative to Sona. Despite the passing of several days we are still waiting for the list of tests that you earlier said were more accurate and better than Sona´s. On this occasion you refer to Luminex and the millions of test that they can do per day. Please pay attention to the following ...more

Hi Burnout, I assume your comment is directed to me. I do in general agree with you but , what really annoys me is, he puts forward arguments and examples that are often partially true or believeable without giving the honest full picture and always to the detriment of Sona. This can result in potential or existing shareholders who perhaps don´t do a full DD being misled, confused and making ...more

Moemoney, you really need to READ CAREFULLY when you do your self-vaunted DD. The information that you yourself present says very clearly DETECTS IgG ANTIBODIES.  It is an ANTIBODY test. It does NOT detect active infection but detects IgG ANTIBODIES  which are produced by the body in response to Covid infection and do not appear for days, often several days, after the onset of infection ...more

Moemoney, The problem is that YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS POSTED ON THE COMPANY WEBSITE EVEN THOUGH IT IS STATED QUITE CLEARLY. Let me explain: 1. The test is called an ANTIGEN ASSAY because it uses the Covid-19 Antigen (present in the infection) to detect an IgG ANTIBODY RESPONSE  to the Antigen.  2.It therefore detects if IgG Antibodies to Covid are present in the serum sample ...more

It would seem that your comment about a limiting machine and cost means you have not done any lab work before or worked with automated equipment or machines.  Sona's manual test is OK in a low volume environment,  where you do not do many tests.  Lab work is boring , tedious work with lots of paper work.  In a high volume lab doing one test after another .If it ...more

sona PR said using: Limit of Detection ("LOD") of 2.1 x 10^2 TCID50 Current studies show positive COVID-19 patients presenting symptoms have viral loads in the 10^4 - 10^6 range. Meaning sona test detects at much lower levels than quidels in case anyone was wondering the science and misinformation being spread

Not spreading anything if that was directed at me and I think ^, was the only concern although some have ulterior motives.
