Article: Quebec’s Medicago changing pandemic respo

Comment by Indicator on Jul 24, 2012 3:09pm
just amazes me how time after time ... the story is so good, yet this is the best we can do: "At press time, shares of Medicago were up 3.7% to $.56 cents."   Deep pockets PM, Paradigm and others could move this stock price to $1.00 in a blink of the eye, but that obviously ain't gonn happen for all the reasons Beenthere has been on about for some time. Disappointing to long ...more

I have been holding and adding to my holding of MDG for at least 4 years now. I do not believe the beenthere stories. MDG stopped being a spec play when they demonstrated that there VLP's worked as promised, and became a long term investment which will pay out when they start getting a positive cash flow (or a pandemic starts somewhere) and not before IMHO. Sheldon essentially said in this ...more

Kade, from what you have wrote I think you don't even know what I have been saying or why indicator mentioned me in his post. It looks to me like you think that I think MDG will never amount to anything. And that couldn't be further from the truth. MDG is going to be a huge success but you or I will never get the benefit. Go back and read my posts slowly and think what I am ...more

Like I said before beenthere, I do not believe your story, its just a cheap way of bashing in my opinion. You are just making this up, you have no evidence that the share price is being held down, why should the share price go up, this company is still operating at a significant loss and will continue to do so until they get a positive cash flow. This is not a speculative play, it is clear where ...more

What I think is my theory I  have no hard evidence It is based on observations of the company over the past 3 years. As stated before, naive as I may be by stating this I am hoping that PMI may change their mind and be happy with 40% And let the market decide our direction
Comment by kade1 on Jul 25, 2012 9:58am
beenthere your theory make no sense in my opinion. If PMI buys out the company for $1.00 or whatever, they bought the farm, its no longer a public company at that stage!.based on your theory they would have paid much more for the company than the book value, they cant make money like that, and PMI shareholders would be unhappy with such a deal. They can make money by SELLING the shares at much ...more

Kane, I wasn't even going to reply to your post. Sorry but you have ZERO concept of how the world works but I will reply on just your first paragraph (the rest of them don't get any better) You say: If PMI buys out the company for $1.00 or whatever, they bought the farm, its no longer a public company at that stage!.based on your theory they would have paid much more for the company than ...more

PLEASE keep in mind the numbers shown in my last  post are for illustration purposes only. YES, fully diluted MDG has more than 248,000,000 shares. AND YES PMI already owns 40% so obviously they would not have to buy those. MY POINT: It is in their (PMI) best interests to buy the company (take it private) sooner than later. With 40% of the float they can trade back and forth within ...more

Now I understannd why you have 111 people ignoring you, here comes number 112
Comment by beenthere on Jul 26, 2012 8:15am
Yes, the way the markets have been I am in a foul mood and don't mince words. Don't be so touchy. Try keeping an open mind instead of hitting the Ignore button What you might learn Just might save you some money

beenthere I am a bit surprised at your comment relative to book value of a company like this. I have not done an exhaustive survey on the present book value of MDG but they are trading probably quite close to it right now. Just very roughly speaking of course and I am no expert obviously, but they have on hand about $30mil in cash, they have a contract with the Japanese outfit of about 33 million ...more

I am still sitting at 112 so I can only assume you took me off ignore to post and then put me back on ignore again. IMO book value means nothing whether it's MDG or any other stock IF you are buying stocks based on book value good luck. Do you really think MDG is only worth 54 cents ?? And putting 40 million dollars as the value on their patents!! I think every Pharma in the whole wide ...more

I guess someone else put you on ignore. Clearly beenther if I bought MDG based on book value and I have been in it  for 4 years, I would be far better of than at the break even point at .55 MDG are not the inventors of this technology, they have brought it to a produceable level however. I am not certain they own a VLP patent, but I think the production process patent using the tobacco like ...more

I had read your post earlier in the day At that point in time I was still at 112 After work I posted without checking Only checked after I posted and I am back to 111 : I had one poster quite sometime ago tell me that you don't get any ignores if you always say things that people want to hear. Enough said. I speak my mind whether I hold the stock or not.   MDG has just too much going ...more

So beenthere, whats happening with NVAX are they being held down at the same price for 5 years too? except for the pandemic spike in 2009 they look a lot like MDG just fixed at a higher price, with occasional ups and downs.
Comment by beenthere on Jul 29, 2012 8:36pm
kade1, I don't think so  but I cannot say because I really have not been following it closely like I have MDG. I bought NVAX the same time as MDG but because it was (is) so much more liquid I traded it for awhile.  The shares I have are "free" shares (my profit). It has been threading water so it hasn't got my attention much. It does not have any single  ...more
