The notion of taking years to reach capacity is 100% false and may indicate a misunderstanding.
Solar runs at full capacity within a week and in fact after several years (years 5 through 20)
the generation of electricity tends to diminish as the panels fade in their ability to absorb the sun rays.
Wind turbines may need a little tweaking and adjusting over the first 4 to 8 weeks and then
production is at nameplate capacity right away
Small hydro projects are at full capacity within weeks also.
Ditto for geothermal.
Yes cash flow for equity holders can grow a bit over time as the debt load diminishes but this does
not necessarily improve profits because maintenance and repair rise as mortgage interest expense falls.
Be careful not to be fooled by this line of thinking
