Aphria/Aurora Merger Talks Still Going On

Could happen any day now. They say the only reason talks stalled is because of a disagreement in executive pay and board composition. All trivial small matters they could iron out!

Yes, the trivial and small matter of 3+BILLION dolar loss wa a tough one to work out. Lower guidance for next quarter also didn't sit right. The overwhelming debt that is driving Aurora to bankruptcy was also a sticking point. Pretty sure Aphria was thinking why partner with these clowns. Let's just let them sink into the Abyss and we can pick up their assets on the cheap or make a stink ...more

Homestretch... young are not a smart nor logical person. If debt was a sticking point. They wouldn't have started negotiations to begin with. Its not that much debt. When you subtract their cash on hand minus their debt, it's only C$360M debt. Normal for such a large company and so much growth potential in a new growing sector. While I doubt there is anything to this manufactured rumor at all, the answer will depend on the valuation ascribed to the ACB assets at the time of buyout. There are a number of people who think ACB has no value at all; assets worth less than liabilities. Question: if you think somebody is going to buy ACB, where do you think they are going to get the money to take on their debt as well as pay ...more

Bullseye. Without a partner Aurora will be bankrupt by August 2021 when they can no longer facilitate their debt. The problem is nobody's going to come in and rescue this Trainwreck. The vultures will keep circling and wait to pick up any decent assets at fire-sale prices.

I better hope not, who wants to merge with aphria, I'd be very upset if we did, even if the price rose 50%.
