construction setback or some unknown delay????

falling share price and silence from mangement must mean something. so strange that we are left to guess. although it does seem like the ones selling know something

I have spent many hours looking for a recent article on Almonty in the South Korean news scene, to no avail at all. That might change dramatically when or if Almonty lists on the SK stock market. In the past it was hot news for a while. It seems that the IIF is the only news we will get for now, so line up and ask the questions.. A While ago I posted this : https://stockhouse.com/companies ...more

Well I should probably start chewing on my hat, no news Monday. I had really talked myself into it being a real possibility. 5ilver, it might have been you a while back who said we may not get an update until the iif, at the time I though no chance. Looks like you may end up correct. I've been trying to come up with positive and negative ideas why no updates, please add to my list ...more

If the next update is the October 10 IIF it will be almost 2 and a half months between construction updates.  That's pretty bad considering they had promised regular updates with pictures on the website months ago. Too busy to simply post some pictures just doesn't pass the smell test for me.  I personally still think we'll have an update before October 10, maybe even right ...more

Tomorrow is the last trading day in Canada prior to the IIF. Hoping that all of this silence for 2 1/2 months will be worth the wait and they will release a significant NR on Tuesday. I can't see Lewis showing up at the IIF with no news or updates for almost a quarter of a year! He can't just say "I dunno" to everything? Right? There has to be significant progress somewhere.

That was good. Avoiding above ground progress once again. Next IIF will give us either:- Good news Bad news or No news
Comment by QuarterDollar on Oct 06, 2023 12:39pm
IMHO.... the fact that this video has been released just prior to the IIF, we can expect next to no real news. Secondly, I think LB ran into some new challenges/issues that he didn't expect and is now trying to navigate around them.  Better to address this issues now before they become very large ones.  I wonder if we have to change out some of our equipment. We will see ...more

Agreed with you QD.  This was stratigically timed.  I always thought they would put out something before October 10 IIF.  And as I've said before I think there is some sort of snag on site impeding progess but I guess we'll know for sure next Tuesday. . . whois
Comment by QuarterDollar on Sep 19, 2023 12:49pm
@1dollarinto2 I was one of the people who said we won't get an update before the IIF. No Update before IIF Furthermore, I believe underground work is delayed as they install the communication system. Communication System

If we got $1.00 share, I would be pretty upset. As a longtime Woulfe shareholder prior to the acquisition, that would be very far off for me. Almonty shares were worth $0.86/share on the day (Sep 11 2015) of the acquisition. That is 8 years ago. Not to mention our Woulfe shares dropped a lot in value leading up to the acquisition. I think they were $0.07 at the time. So most of us were already ...more

Chizzles, I totally agree on your price expectations. I wouldn't be pleased with a $1 offer to take private, I would see it as a negative outcome. No chance a buyout offer of $1 would get approved by the larest shareholders; however, the risk I see is with just a few shareholders having such a significant ownership, if this group decided to keep the profits for themselves and go private it ...more

Your first two points on positives ring true to me. The third one on a takeover horrifies me. It has taken so many years to get this far with the financing, Korean Govt. power, water, roads deals, KIGAM pilot plant and flotation tech., Posco EPC (now someone else), Metso early orders of equipment and so on. Lewis has a historical track record of being a bit niggly on deal making, to the overall ...more

Any talk of a buyout, though not entirely impossible, is highly speculative at this point and being caused by the way the company is currently treating its retail shareholders.  In other words EMOTIONS.  After the next update we will probably all completely forget about this possibility. I would take a $2 buyout today (LOL) if offered to me just to have this over with but I'm sure I ...more

Well imo, it is obvious to me that they can't show something that doesn't exist, meaning the construction hasn't started yet for some reason. It seems that there is something Black is not coming forward and telling us for obvious reasons. I can understand he can be in a very tight spot to say anything not to blow this whole thing up, however, he has already made too many ...more

why is it that every single poster on this board is a share holder from way back in the woulfe days? when almonty moved from the venture market to the big board tsx it was supposed to bring in a whole new group of investors. well it does not seem like that ever happened. all there has been here is massive dilution and a stagnent share price for those share holders with the patience to still be ...more

@GastownGuy In one of LB previous Q&A sessions following his presentation, he stated that he was able to answer shareholder questions initially because there were only a few hundred held over from the Wolfe days.  Then he went on to say now there were a few thousand new shareholders. Furthermore, tungsten is a niche market hence this is a niche stock. This is why I say we will ...more

I do remember that comment by black and can remember thinking how lame an excuse it was for the companies lack of communication with share holders. In fact it was the first time I started to wonder if black was in over his head as ceo.

Last minute of the day brought us up to $0.52, up four cents on the day. Hasn't hit $0.52 since Aug 25th, almost a month. Also went up on low volume. Hopefully that is a sign that the seller is finished and we will slowly work our way back up. I remember in the winter we fell to the $0.50's or $0.60's (don't remember exactly) and we work our way back up to $0.80's in a short ...more

Nice to see optimism returning to the board Things were beginning to get a little hairy over the last week+ lol

with all due respect it is more than justified. we have heard nothing from the company since 31st July, at the same time the share price has plummeted.  even the most seasoned investors have enough reason to be fully pi**ed.
Comment by TwelveBagger on Sep 21, 2023 11:20am
I agree the price drop is uncomfortable and the silence is deafening. However, publicly shaming the company we believe in to grow our money is probably only serving to encourage a drop in price. Hopefully when we receive our next update there has been method to the madness
Comment by whoisyourpapa on Sep 21, 2023 12:37pm
To be fair @twelveBagger in this chicken & egg story first came the price drop along with deafening silence from management, then came what you refer to as "shaming the company".  You seem to have things backwards in an effort to defend the appalling behaviour of management. If they don't want pissed off shareholders then just update us!  Even if its to say that there& ...more

I just want almonty shareholders money to grow. I'm here to monitor the news and throw in a quip here or there. Offending or exciting anyone whom my objectives are aligned with is a waste of time and certainly isn't my intention. I'm less interested in defending the management team and most interested in the growth of my money.
Comment by whoisyourpapa on Sep 21, 2023 4:05pm
I agree TwelveBagger our objectives are indeed aligned.  We all want our money to grow, I guess we just have differing opinions on how managment should act in order to achieve this goal (which management also share).   I think managment should do what they say such as keeping shareholders updated with pictures on the website etc as promised by them.  Also if there's an ...more

Gulp ! Scary talk. There might be some good news in the next IIF and no negatives, otherwise there would be no reson to front up on the platform. The last thing to say is bad news. I hope.
