OMG I hope this guy is not entirely right! Because with 1.8 B in revenue, and a loss of 0.04 US$ PS, we could get severly punished. Due to other kind of legacy skelottons or GKW in the closet??! I expect a loss of between 2-3 CDN $ PS. GLTA.
Comment by raphaelle2 on Feb 07, 2022 8:39am
Oups...correction : a loss of 0.02-.03US$ PS ! I need another coffee...

Not sure that the EPS are so important, we could have some write off with the Lear jet production end (layoff etc). It's more a cash flow or free cash flow game for now.
Comment by BBDB859 on Feb 07, 2022 9:21am
Agreed. The EPS will recover once we start getting +FCF's.. Remember, we were on a spend cycle with Service Centers and Pearson this year. So the loss was bound to happen. +FCF Quarterly will change the perception of the company.

Ralph don't worry. This guy is totally off. We'll reach $2.1 to $2.3 in Revs. This shoiuld help the loss per share to be tighter. If they raise production? Then they'll start to show +FCF in 2022. It was bound to happen given the demand.

In this article, the author writes that according to some analysts questioned by the  firm Refinitiv that gathers financial data, they expect the eps to be -4 cents/ share us. who are these analysts...they could be any or all of the 3 analysts that have been systematically  posting a sell recommandation for quite a long time. Certainly not one of the 8 analysts who have a BUY ...more

About the analysts... when we look at sites with analyst recommendations we can see the -.04$ average but when we look at the average revenue and other info linked it looks too high for the said average. Sometimes... some will even say most times... when taken as a whole, a group of analysts recommendations doesn't make any sense at all because of the ones that go for the extremes ...more

At TD they have an estimated eps of minus.03 $ for the fourth quarter. They have consolidated the  eps of Bbd of the analysts they follow and averaged them to come to that figure. I read this article this morning, and out of the blue I see minus.04$ as eps for  fourth quarter. That is a good difference on the negative side. I think the author cherry picked his analysts estimates on the ...more

True about the info.  Nowadays it's all about were we get our info. Never trust extremist because most of the times that's what they are (Both 'everything is ok' and 'everything is gone to hell' crowds). A good rule of thumbs is to remove the one or two most optimistics/pessimistics analysts and the result is most likely to be closer to what ends up being the ' ...more

before thinking of increasing the production rate, you should make sure you have all the components and produce what is planned. Let's solve our current problem and we'll see for future production
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on Feb 07, 2022 4:11pm
Maybe the current problem is that they have to slow down in order to set things up for a ramp up? I'm just saying that if they have to change some things in production line, mechanical setup whatever, it might explain what you keep getting back to. (No/only one delivery) They might have pushed things a lot in order to reach the 120 and also were due to have lots of people take some vacation ...more

that could be a valid reason for having 0 delivery in jan and 1 delivery in first 7days of feb the question is, if that is the case, why bbd did not announce at the bigining of the year that they will do X, Y, Z and that will delay deliveries in Q1 2022 as it looks, while many of us hope or expect a good year 2022, Q1 2022 may not be great, and that is why the market is pushing bbd shares down,, ...more

Bbd, airbus, boeing, even if they keep some infrastructure inhouse, are assembling a plane, not producing it. Producting a plane is a very long process. The production rate is something very stable because everything you assemble was produced years before by your supplyers. And if you want to increase the production rate, you have first to send a request to your supplyers and hope they are ALL ...more
