This is just the tip of the iceberg as it does not include the shares shorted in the US (CJREF) (over two million shares) and other exchanges and the ones that go intentionally unreported by colluding brokers as well as the shares shorted through put options. My conservative estimate is that at least 20 million shares have been sold short.

Corus Entertainment got what they deserved as for screwing up Eastlink subscribers as a result of not reaching an agreement to carry their channels, meaning that the Halifax based telecom provider and Canada's 5th largest telecom company will be forced to get rid of Corus owned channels starting June 27. Eastlink are just as bad for their defeatist attitude on that matter.

Relax. Those who want the channels can pay $12 per month and get StackTV the streaming app from Corus entertainment. Corus could end up better off cutting the middle man and pocketing the commissions cut for itself.

So they didn't loose them, they just get delivered in the new way of the world - it's the cable companies that are the dinosaurs in this space not the underlying linear and streamed products

Whoever owns the content is in the box seat.  The cable companies have nothing to sell if they don't sign up with content providers such as corus.  Everyone is desperate for content these days so corus is well positioned. They'll come back to the table and Corus will be fine.  It's a good time to play chicken with the cable companies while advertising dollars are
