Impending news

Do we think we acquired or sold off a holding?

I don't think there was a hold when we bough Stratus...

Well we got our answer! Seems like this royalty is structured very similar to what we are doing with Mr. Lube. Also now we have 2 food based holdings. SVR eat your heart out! (But they have better proformance than us)... So some numbers to look at: Current dividend yeild on today's close = 9.76% Pro-Forma distributable income yeild = 11.53% (28.94 cents, projected) Very glad I ...more

Kicking myself as I had a bud for 5000 at $2.49 shortly before close and only got 3200 filled.  Should have just had a market bid, but of course I had no idea the transaction was coming. Now holding 8200 at an average of $2.65. Will be interesting to see what the market makes of it tomorrow and I have dry powder available.

You will not see much upward share price movement in any dividend paying stocks until we see inflation cooling and central banks signal the end to rate hikes.  I don't care what industry or type of sector you are in, interest rates will prevent capital apprciation in stocks paying out earnings.   We are buying these companies for future earnings and future price appreciation ...more

I'll be 'That Guy' for the sake of argument:   "You will not see much upward share price movement in any dividend paying stocks until we see inflation cooling and central banks signal the end to rate hikes.  I don't care what industry or type of sector you are in, interest rates will prevent capital apprciation in stocks paying out earnings." NOA looks like a penny stock?  Unless I am missing something.  TVK is an interesting stock but hard to describe it as an income stock when it pays out only 17% of earnings.  Nice play though and looks like a stable business.  There are exceptions to every rule but in general, royalty plays like DIV and Alaris, they will get clobbered in times of rising interest rates.  ...more

NOA  - North American Construction Group lol I think you were looking at the lithium brines company... I was only being argumentative because of your use of definitive words, to me it was a challenge you set to disprove your use of "in any" and “will prevent". As I said, general, you thoughts/opinions are very valid and may play out for the most part, but I also gotta ...more

BarBurrito is actually extrememly popular with the younger folk.  I am like you, not that intrigued but I am older and more set in my ways.   I drive by a BarBurrito place a few times a week and it is almost always packed for lunch.
