Are You an Investor or a Trader?

Other than chat about what has happened, is happening or will happen in the market, I would happy to engage with anyone who wishes to talk about anything related to EXRO’s technology or their business.

Sue gave another great update today and based upon my research, we should be happy to have her in our CEO’s chair.  But I digress, she gave us an great overview of the roadmap of how to bring new technology to the market.  Rest assured, she has the experience of doing this before. Just read her resume you will understand.  I’m very happy she works for me!

It seems the yellow bricked road is comprised of several stepping stones and milestones.  And so we go, step by step.  I’m here for the long haul.

There is something I came away not real clear about.  It was about the AC fast charging option versus the DC option.  Clearly there’s a cost advantage to the end user for AC versus DC infrastructure.  She clearly mentioned that EXRO doesn’t provide the equipment but I am not clear how then the DC versus AC fast charging is so important nor how it could financially benefit EXRO.  How does that work?

Other things I found interesting was her explanation of the copious amount of extra space in the Calgary clean room.  Couple that with her brief reference to future years ahead, projecting out to 2027 as I recall, this all gives me confidence that there is a master plan in the works.  I think the inner circle is a very happy place, wish I was in it.  I was a marketer in my day but I never had the experience of selling a completely unique product that everybody wanted.  It must tough having to tell customers, we will work with you as soon as we can!

So, if you drink the same cool aid, let’s chat.  If you don’t, go play.

Best regards

Thefourth,  I personally think, this is a great move on EXRO's part, one that is initially targeting "large vehicle" fleets that would deploy the 400/800 High output coil driver. Vehicle OEM's that use the Coil Driver are in a position to offer their customers a fast charging option that is  far less complex and expensive than DC fast charging should they wish to go ...more

Hey Simp... go coles note explanation. The idea is to create a competitive advantage as a sales and marketing tool. The Coil Driver and Cell Driver which doesn't get as much talk is too me the behind the scenes magic bullet. The need for energy backup and off peak rate storage is massive. As for the AC vs DC charging stations, BC Hydro has been having a rash of DC chargers malfunctioning ...more

The commercial market (trucks, buses etc.) is somewhat immune to the craziness (fires and such) we see in the consumer space. So I am glad that EXRO has the smarts to target this market first. And let's not lose sight of the fact that the high voltage units have higher margins, even at volume. DC Chargers are a problem everywhere. Huge numbers of YT videos detailing the issues faced by EV ...more

Excellent post !!! My only concern is I'm not an engineer and electrical motors have been around for 100 years, so I'm long at 1 75 betting that their IP is bullet proof and a game changer So any technical input is much welcomed. Sometimes a techno tweak comes along and changes the game. All eyes on a possible GM hook up which would be a major validation of their tech. Glta

Just to summarize, you're saying that the EXRO CD is simply what enables the AC fast charging option? Also, are we to understand that no other product in currently the EV technical marketplace accomplishes the same function? Another thing I picked up on in yesterday's presentation was how Sue hoisted the CD hardware and made a point of mentioning the evolution of the CD and how small it ...more

All valid points, just like you I am no engineer and to that extent a blind investor in their IP. Is it really a game changer, heck electric motors have been out for over a 100 years. And last time I checked there is a lot a grey matter at Mercedes, Kia Hundai and almost forgot Tesla. So any technical input/validation of EXRO efforts is much appreciated. Go Innovation Go and go Portugal Go. Glta

I'll maybe go out on a limb here, but I think the main point that Sue was making was that the little green board may not look like much, but there is a massive amount of human engineering behind it.  Some of the engineering is electrical (the types and functions of various chips), but a lot of it is software code and algorithms. Small size factor is always great, heat dissipation issue ...more

In a previous post, I likened EXRO's efforts to that of the early days of the PC business. EXRO is attempting to become the equivalent of "Intel Inside" and the "X86" architecture" by providing both the hardware and software components that offers the market reliable standards without limiting their ability to differentiate themselves at the customer level.  ...more

Kool-Aid is a great refresher but mostly synonymous with cult-like rituals haha  Agree with you about the fast charging question. I am happy to know that you, myself or someone will have picked up on that and submitted a question for the next webinar that comes out!  It does seem like Sue has everything going right now. Obviously, nobody wants to scare away investors or sway them in ...more
