Cobalt fair alliance

Tesla recently joined the relative new group cobalt fair alliance ....wonderful ....but previously Tesla spurred rumours of taking cobalt out of thier batteries as a way to give perception of and not particpate in the devastating cobalt mining situation in the DRC ....but then they go and join this so called alliance to improve conditions of those mining cobalt by hand and with considerable child labor support....sorry not adding up.

40 % Of the value of the car ? With a reported 15 lbs of cobalt in the planned batteries there is something wrong with the picture ....and I say  Total horse/bull manure.....but this spin is tossed out there as well

cobalt is here to stay and they ( all alliance members) all know it and so do the car / battery manufactuers.

When the million battery emerges with improved range and depth of discharge, it will replace 5 - 6 ICE lifetimes with 1/10 of the parts and ongoing service/maintenance costs. This technology will spell the end of the ICE and probably will require more, not less cobalt. Third party finance will own the battery and lease it back to car owners thus amortizing the up front costs over time (and ...more
