RE:Conflict between Laurentian and NationalWhat this is telling you is the people with the best inside knowledge of Laurentian want out. They see far better opportunity elsewhere, The does not bode well for Laurentian's future health when you are losing some of your best talent. I do not see another Bank buying Laurentian, maybe the assets and deposits along with their top staff, but unless a new bank wants to start up in Canada, none of the existing Banks would be interested in talking over all those branches, overhead etc. I don't see the new CEO being interested in an asset only sale, bank is worth a lot more as a going concern if she can actually turn it around. So far, progress towards that aim is not great.

There are two ways to look at this. One is that Laurentian is vulnerable to raids from its competitors. The other is that Laurentian has something that its competitors find worthwhile. Now that Laurentian's emplyees are no longer represented by a union, LB is a conceivable target of a takeover. If Its competitors want what Laurention possesses, they may be tempted to make a bid for it.
