RE:RE:RE:Both SU and COP Played The Sitting The Partners Out Game

RE:RE:RE:Both SU and COP Played The Sitting The Partners Out Game@mrbb I was a HSE and SU shareholder (and small position in COS) for many years as well. Maybe I should clarify that by steal I mean opportunistically move to acquire a company when it's in trouble and stock price is in a deep slump.

SU did a hostile takeover of COS and it took a couple of raises and further deterioration in business conditions to convince the majority of COS shareholders to finally tender. HSE also resorted to a hostile attempt to acquire MEG but the offers failed to get sufficient MEG shareholders to tender, then as you point out the production curtailment mandated by the AB government reduced the appeal of the takeover and HSE abandoned it. CVE's move on HSE was not nearly so predatory, although HSE was in trouble with debt levels when the cv19 crash tanked oil prices so its share price was clobbered badly, however the combination made sense for both companies and so proceeded to close in a friendly manner.
