RE:RE:RE:RE:CrISPRMetal there might be some success in treating T1D with gene edited IPSC cells but this only highlights the relevance of the pouch.  To prevent the damage before it happens with CRISPR we would need to know what gene causes T1D.   This is far from clear and most speculate it is a combination of both genetics and environmental factors.   An example being identical twins with the same genetics one can get t1D and the other is fine so clearly the environment plays a role.
