end game @ 80cents

Have not posted for years but have enjoyed most of the entertainment provided by board.  Same names but slightly different opinions expressed now.  Must have been  those bashers that drove down the share price, killed the "fantastic" Endo deal, and prevented full U.S. license for econiche.  Sorry , just had to get in that last dig.  My opinion is that the price is being managed for a takeout .  I believe that at this time it is easier to offer McRae and a few managers  future positions and take out the whole co. than to try and hive off parts.  A 20 day average price is usually the measure that is used.  For  $0.80  yes, 80cents, I think BNC is history as long as McRae is on board.  That would be a 150% premium on a   32 cent / 20 day average price.  By keeping the price down you are keeping the holders frustrated and allowing new blood in cheap.  An offer that sounds reasonably fair gives you control.  Even the Biovail group would be 400+% up if their average cost was 18.  I believe that at some point soon the emperor will discover his nakedness and look for the towel.  He has no financial resources or past record to defend himself.  This would offer him a way out with some dignity.

I know some will see this as a "poison pill event' but the valuations I have seen on this board are over the top.  Reality is not kind.  It is......  and the market is our reality. $1.00 tops..

I usually write rebuttals ,agreements etc. to the opinions on the board.  I find that writing them down gives me a better perspective on my own opinion. It slows down an immediated reaction and allows thought to  take differnt channels.  Then I would erase them as I found that the value for me was in the formulation of a position and not defending it from attacks.  Today I have decided to post to see what reaction it gets and because I don't believe there has been any discussion of a takeout..  Dusty

P.S.  A few years back there was a group here who were offering to buy bnc stock for $3.00/share.  I think we could deal now.

Well I don't know about you but I would never vote for a deal that gave me $0.80 a share. Nice try thought. They could drop Urocidin, the VMC, cut their VP's by 90% and cut their work force by about 60%, get some real sales people and start growing revenue and we would have a nice little company here. If they would focus on sales instead of spending every last cent on R&D they might ...more

Dusty.... I don't disagree that the SP may be kept artificially low for a possible takeover....but a straight multiple on 20 day average SP is not a true way of valuing this (or any) company. Just because the market knows our current CEO as the type of leader he is is reason enough to surpress the SP for the various reasons, various posters (incl me) have mentioned. But just because the stock ...more

I hope you're wrong about the end-game. Besides Bioniche, I have a small investment in another bio-tech firm that lost big after its drug trials, and became a Forestry products company using leftover value. I'm watching its management endorse a take-over for a premium on a 30 day average-- one that dropped for a couple of months before the takeover bid, after beginning to take off on ...more

Hey Dusty. I get where you're coming from, however you are not taking into account our Animal  health business that is cash flow positive, once you take away R & D and the VMC plant. Only Bioniche could be trading where we are now, with our assets.   If lightening burnt the VMC to the ground our market cap would double overight. If after that Urocidin got ...more

BEECH  I wish I could see it that way however my viewpoint is of a company whose assets are discounted, encumbered by debt and in desparate need of money and time.  Without a deal, how much time do we have. We have increased our burn even more by hiring a sales agent for A.H..  I really don,t see another means of raising cash.  If other parties are interested they will ...more

"How many shares have been bought in the 40 cent and less range.  More than you think I'd wager. " I don't know how many shares you "think" have been bought in the 40 cent range but less than you think I'd wager.  I'd say 10 - 15 mil in the last 7-8 months. Of that 10 - 15 mil shares traded I would bet longs picked up a lot of those in an effort to ...more

BNC has traded below 40 cents for periods of 2008, 2009,  2012,& 2013.  During the last 20 trading days the volume was at least 3.8 mil.  The week fond sold I believe was over  8mil. Thats would top your upper limit  in 2 months.  I'm am not trying anything, I'm just stating an opinion that I  find fits the facts.  What you do or how you place ...more

80 cents looks pretty good at the moment, seeing as no one is willing to pay 34 cents for a company allegedly having 30 "approaches" for its P3 cancer drug and 3 unsolicited offers for its 30 plus mil Animal Health division.   If there was ever a reason to turf management?

Hey, Graeme is giving us all a chance to buy as much as we want at $.30+/share averaging down, so we can break even at $.80/share. Get yours now, because he can't keep offering this great deal forever!   Btw, don't get drawn into the mindset that $.80/share is okay.

80 cents a share certainly seems like a good deal to me SWINE. I'd like more but if that is the best McRae and Co. can drive I might be tempted. As someone noted earlier, Bioniche has traded at 50 cents or lower for a good part of the last 8 years.   I'm sure that there is 4-5  that in value, in the right hands, but we all know who the current pitchman is.

Obviously if the deal was spectacular for us, it would have been signed and delivered by now.  I feel that this "deal" will be nothing more than a Urocidin tourniquet.   I wonder if one of the offers is a straight up trade-off for a lifetime membership to the Jelly of the Month Club.   Like cousin Eddie said, "it's the gift that keeps on giving...." ...more
