I think you'll regret making that statement. Until the new CEO is confirmed, progress and sales will be tedious. If CEO is an external recruit, progress and sales will be even slower. Momentum is gone, and replaced by uncertainty. Very bad news for now.

All they have to do is show some sales and all is forgotten ...ya right looks like dontfollow took my advice and moved into the light

Until the first significant sales contract, dontfollow. Memories are short when that happens. I agree PAT shouldn't have made this announcement until they had their pick. Obviously, they saw a need to make it public that Cronin was in his way out. We can only speculate as to why.

They are making premature decisions based on speculations. I believe that they decided to let Cronin go due to the upcoming AGM. There is evidently a lot of anger and frustration towards Cronin (which is misdirected) and if the AGM decides to let Cronin go from the board, he would have to step down as CEO as well. Hence, they make this decision as a precaution to be able to find a new CEO before ...more

Dontfollow, I think you are taking some of these posts too literally. I think everyone wants to see PAT hire a CEO with experience running a company that is in the growth stage- not just a salesman. An understanding of the sales and marketing process, at that level, should go without saying. Cronin served his purpose when PAT was a start-up. He is a good communicator and his past experience in ...more

Just to add to what Killinit and Nightstocker have said. Cronin background and experience have been in the field of security, not sales and mostly outside of North America. On this side of the world it's kill or be killed, it's cut throat, it's bloody. You have a cutting edge technology today thats outdated tomorrow. You have to get it to market 70 - 80 percent complete and fine tune ...more

Dietmar or Bill Maginas would accept the promotion in an heartbeat but they are looking for a bigger name then that imo If they where hiring in-house that name would have been announced yesterday.

Hopefully you're correct. Let's see how it plays out.
Comment by dontfollow on Aug 19, 2020 12:55pm
I agree, Cronins CV would have been inadequate if he were to be chosen as CEO today. However, the knowledge he has gathered throughout the 4 years at PAT is immense and more valuable than any experience (thats my belief). He knows the company inside out, and knows what is best for the bizz long-term. Add to that his huge network of industry people which makes him invaluable. Hopefully the AGM in 2 ...more

With that logic, a paramedic would be a great pic to run a major hospital.
Comment by dontfollow on Aug 19, 2020 1:46pm
That comparison might have worked if Cronin was a project manager assistant during the last four years for PAT and got promoted to CEO.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on thisa one, dontfollow.

"There is evidently a lot of anger and frustration towards Cronin (which is misdirected)" He had every chance to make this company profitable beyond our wildest dreams. I guess we'll never know why Turtle made the decision (and stubbornly stuck with it) to do the slow roll. Imagine Elon Musk holding back the new Tesla truck for years to "get it right" after the ...more

Agreed 100%  he had NO sales plan and he knew it, once it sunk I that only sales would change the direction of thi, they said well Cronin what's the plan..... he has nothing... he should have had a marketing plan done  6 months ago ready for product launch... nothing, product to market and we got effing EMAILS!!!!!! f@ck off.... seriously..
Comment by PliskinNYC on Aug 19, 2020 2:11pm
  This is all my opinion

Imagine Musk rushing Teslas first launch, the Roadster, to customer before being finalized - which by the way took 5+ years to develop.
Comment by Nightstocker on Aug 19, 2020 2:17pm
At the end of the day, Cronin is gone. PAT kicked him off the Island. They had their reasons. We can debate about the why's and wherefore till we are blue in the face. PAT now has the single most important decision they likely have ever had in front of them... Pick a CEO appropriate for a growth stage company. They do this right, we are laughing all the way to the bank. They hump the bunk ...more

Can't have more of a dud than Turtle. I admit, he was correct in acquiring new tech, but that was it. All those conferences, meetings in Washington, wtf for? All those partnerships and to have them wait, wtf for? Turtle f'ed up big and he knows it.
Comment by BaronBuffett on Aug 19, 2020 2:33pm
I hope the lesson Turtle learned here is that time really is money. He thought he had time with all that money in the war chest, but time is eating it up slowly. Cost them some warrant money, competitors catching up, shareholders that could be using some profit money right about now. He never took the unknown into account. The right leader will bring us out of darkness and into greatness and ...more

Agreed. This decision is by far the most important one since their inception.
Comment by BaronBuffett on Aug 19, 2020 2:26pm
Yes, and it still wasn't perfect when he rolled them out. Every car company puts out their products when they have to - no delays - and when a problem arises or needs modification, what happens? A recall. Can't have a perfect product, but you can have a market ready one and adjust accordingly. This fact baffles Turtle.
