RiskI like why I invested in Tahoe and must agree that I was aware of some of the issues that were facing the company but looked at the presentation/comments that management has made and have to accept the current position.
Guatamala has tremendous potential in the mining area similar to Canada and they need to ensure that not only the indigenous rights are looked after but the environmental. Bottom line can never be the sole over riding reason to develop a mine.
That said Guatemala has been a kicking stone for not only political ideology but environmental ideology to the detriment of a industry that has help many societies out of poverty.
Politically I see the main stream goverment supporting the industry but it now needs the justice system to recognize the rights of all that have invested in the development of an economy that requires socially conscience investment...
Tahoe has a 25 year licence to make this happen, I hope it does not take that long for the people to recognize the benefit of a high paying industry that has made obvious mistakes in the past but has taken significant strides to remedy past sins.
Remember it is the guatamalan mining ministry that has been taken to court not Tahoe.
