RE:RE:Risk

RE:RE:RiskAgree, but the challenge is based on the body of work the ministry did in providing the license not the consultations the company carried out with the locals.

If as management says they have the local support then it comes down to how the indigenous people were engaged or as current management is saying there is no indigenous community located within the mines mining rights...

The courts need to now determine what rights if any the indigenous population has as it relates to theissuance of the mining license. Having moving legal requirements make it difficult for any country to attract investment needed to improve the living standard. From what I have been able to gather the current government wants these constant business interruption to end and have legal certainty take its place.

The amount of poltcal curruption has landed the former president in jail and Morales campaigned on cleaning it up. That will not happen over night and if there was an element of corruption in the issuance there will to be accountability.

Watching the net when ever there is any sort of failure by the government the opposition (former ruling paarty) wants the president to resign.. I find it amusing since it was their lack of ability to weed out the corruption that has Guatemala in the state they are in.

And maybe some good old political interfere by the USA not fully understanding the lay of the land.
