DD’s comments about lumpy quarters?

Good morning!

6:05am (PST).

Been mulling over GSI this week. Rereadingnmy notes and watching interviews.

AGM DD spoke to a brisk Q1 but lumpy quarters still incoming.

anyone else concerned about Q2!?

There is not Septa deal incoming as of yet. Zero updates since the EOI last year. No RFP for bus lane camera's yet. The agendas tell us all that will be discussed.

News flow give us zero info on contract sizes.

inhave a feeling Q2 may be red. We may see a larger sell off if so without a major deal to bridge confidence till Q3.

As of this AM I am down to 961,053 shares left. This will be my bottom. This is a significant drop for me from my position. I have been here longer than I can remember now. Buying from 0.07 and up and then down and then up.

This is a great little company that has done my family very well.

I am still nervous for Q2. I have parked 200k in cash on sidelines awaiting it. If it drops then I will move in. If not will move back to safe barber stocks.

It has been an amazing ride. Seeing our initial loss of 300ish k turn to over 2 million. Had to hedge risk as this is a unicorn for our family. Monthly dividends are over 2k cdn now just from my sales of shares over last two weeks.

I will be around. Just not checking as much and putting it on auto pilot. Thanks to all for the conversations over the last 7 years.

I am still excited to see what happens to my remaining 960k ish in shares. No longer a whale in this stock. Just a minnow with a bit of cheddar.

best to all,

James W.

DD has been transparent on "lumpy" quarters, esp. Q2. Congrats on your windfall with GSI. Myself have only been in the name for 2 years, initially bought for stop arm, then saw pivot towards TA business, then saw the crosselling with hardware and software. The story is evolving and looks good, another TA contract will take this towards $2. I'm not too concerned about Q to Q numbers ...more

You may be right about Q2 James.  However I tend to think a lot of these sorts of things and get baked into the SP anyway beforehand.  The market is likely expecting a softer Q2 purely based on the news flow as well as Doug’s comments which I also believe he made in one of the youtube videos.  I generally believe most GSI shareholders are not here for a quarterly flip ...more

I agree with you, Q2 is generally a bit soft. I did have the quarterly estimates completed but I have the SP target based on annual revenue & net income. If I remember correctly I estimated Q2 revenue around 5 million, and slightly positive net income. GLTA

I personally believe q2 will be soft and probably their weakest quarter for the year. The second half should probably make up for it. It's probably not a bad idea to have cash on the side in case the market punishes them for a weaker quarter. In any case, the future looks bright and if margins return to mid 40 to 50 % range then net income can instantly double and so will the share price!  ...more

Q2 expected to be lumpy? That's debatable!! We have seen a few nice size contracts come in Q2.  Including a 5yr contract with the 8th largest school district in the US.  We have no idea how much is being spent or how much is being loaded in the front end of these contracts.  Also we don't know how much of the other current contracts have increased or decreased during this ...more

I have proven myself to be incredibly inept and timing the market, but I believe in CEO Doug, and I believe that when he says with conviction that his goal is to take Gatekeeper to $1 billion market cap, I believe him, and I also believe he will do it...... So I buy, and hold, and hold, and buy, and hold and hold...... How it will be for me... Although I would relish in a drop under 90 cents, I ...more

Let's face it, we probably are not getting a major transit until the stimulous package is passed and the money can flow to the states. We may get Septa business, but not until at least end of March now. We may get ITSS business, we may get M&A that we do not know about. So far, 5 mil & hopefully at least 3 mil will put us ahead of last year by 1 mil. It gives us 3-4 ...more

Ice thinking bananaman this is correct imo the stimulus money will come and we will get a contract with SEPTA . how big that depends on how much money is poured in by us govt .the way I look at it is getting any contact is better than none and we just signed another one 2 days ago and the top 10 listing not sure why we are negative here the q2 will be good as well excellent well that we will see ...more

No offense James but if your looking at moving your money over to safer plays then why wait ? Those stocks could also rise and then your paying more .just my opinion it's like having one leg in the boat and one out imo. .

just seems to me that James was bullish 3 weeks ago when he was offloading shares and then telling evryone after the fact that he sold his postion acting like he paid 1.00 for his shares, and now that he's wanting more if the price drops, starting to soft bash, makes me wonder what his real intentions are ? You made a bunch of money move on and seek greener pastures .. Anyway this is my ...more

James' open and honest opinion is respectful.  We know it's an honest opinion as he off loaded that many shares for a couple of his stated reasons - inflated market conditions and a suggested lumpy Q2.  But let's set aside all of the great things lined up for the future of this company for a second and take a moment to consider James' position.  Having well into 7 ...more

I figure he knows what's best for his account and money, not me. I am holding, and maybe buying here and there, my average buy is still in the thirties or firties I think, so no worries here! Cheers!

JamesWW, If "Q2 may be red" so what? You made lots of money on this stock so far, you have choise to sell and invest the rest of your money elsewhare. You are creating negative energy to this amazing stock. Take a hike! JM8648

I agree - James should be more sensitive to how the board might feel about his post-sale comments.  However, another factor at play is how one feels AFTER making the big sale.  I know the relief at having got out and scored the big profit is almost immediately followed by "seller's regret" if you think the co. is in good shape and it was just time to take some money off the ...more
