I think he might need to keep looking for mentors....
very true, especially for veterans who have a wealth of experience but often little to none in the business field they hope to be successful in. Humility is not always a trait that the military has generated but it is necessary, in order to be willing to find the mentors, support and guidance to make the transition. Probably Matthews or Linton's pick. Don't know how long they will keep betting on that horse without results. Or is it the fact that it was their pick that makes them stick with it much longer? I am not sure what that would accomplish, it is not like anybody would say it was a good move given that the share price is in the sewer....non-redeemable at this point IMO and no way to save that

Anybody remember the Dec 17, 2017 press release announcing the hiring of this CEO? Terry had this to say. "Martello is primed for continued growth and is adding senior leadership experience to ensure they get there. John has a proven background and private sector experience, which will help him guide Martello through the next stages of corporate execution." The new CEO had this to say,

What's the opposite of synergy? Taking two separate organizations (Martello and GSX), putting them together and achieving worse results. I wonder if they ever look back a few years and evaluate how reality played out against expectations. 4 years later. I wonder what kind of discussions took place behind close doors, but this has been Ugly, even more so for a type of business that one would

What's the opposite of synergy?  Entropy is a common antonym. Shambles, disarray, muddle, mess are others.

Synergy is where the total is greater than the sum of its parts. I am not sure there is an equivalent where the total is lesser than the sum of its parts. Mathematically speaking, the total is lesser than the sum of its parts when one number is negative. Just musing over definitions, but underperforming is a very polite descriptor.
