Sorry suregold1 your conspiracy theory just holds no water for me. ES has no intererest in running a mining company being an accountant he recognizes good grade and how profitable it is and that is his forte. Why have we had Doug Hurst sitting on the board for almost a year now with his biggest asset being mining to the table?  NFG has been accessing of just going it alone and probably ...more

Unlikely any mining will begin without a 43101, a prerequisite piece for a PEA, PFS and ultimately a FS. You don’t have to look far to see how companies fair when skipping PFS and FS stages. Don’t be a wackle doodle.

It could very well be the resource of a lifetime. But that doesn’t preclude following regulatory compliance and guidelines. The 43101, PEA, PFS, FS are de-risking and scoping mechanisms. All bankable documents that all stakeholders, financers, government agencies will want in hand before any shovel hits the dirt. Everyone investing in this space should be familiar with this. An orogenic gold deposit is a type of hydrothermal mineral deposit. More than 75% of the gold recovered by humans through history belongs to the class of orogenic gold deposits.[1] Rock structure is the primary control of orogenic gold mineralization at all scales, as it controls both the transport and deposition processes of the mineralized fluids, creating ...more

Yeah sorry I forgot all rules are never to be broken and must endure the bureacracy  imposed by the banksters of the TSE. Whoop forgot we are not on TSE are we. Fosterville has no consistancy. 43-101 are mandatory not volunteery We must always comply. .......sounds like borg.(maybe beancounter)... These rules only apply when you need the banksters.....we believe in the bank of Sprott ...more

Eric has already picked up 31.4% of NFG without any such documents.  He doesn't need such documents to pick up another 20%.  This debate is about ownership, not mining. Was he silly to sink some $450 million CAD into an exploration company without such documents?  He is a believer in the geology.  The lawyers and the accountants and the studies you mention will come later. ...more
Comment by smilejollyroger on May 03, 2022 3:44pm
You obviously don’t need those documents to invest. I never alluded to that. You do however need those documents to get your rubber stamps from gov’t and regulators to start mining. Do you honestly think that you would be allowed to dig a massive hole(s) in the ground without demonstrating economic feasibility and social, environmental impact?

Cannot speak for retiredgeo but I do. Where did you get the idea they were necessary?  They are only their to secure banking requirements and derisk projects. IKE
Comment by Retiredgeo on May 03, 2022 4:01pm
Clearly, we are not on the same page.  I'm taking about Eric seizing control of NFG and you are talking about mining.  We all accept that you need these documents and studies to mine.  That is way down the road. In the meantime do you think Eric is planning a takeover of NFG?  Do you think he is planning a buy out?  Personally, I suspect a controlling interest to be ...more

You are probably right, but who the heck knows. ES thinks this is the greatest find of the last 30 years? Maybe he sees taking out the whole thing. His daughter Larisa is clearly his chosen successor, and she has plenty of background to run a company of the size needed to mine Queensway. Only he knows his plan, but if Queensway has the resource we all seem to think it has, he could capture at ...more
Comment by Retiredgeo on May 03, 2022 6:32pm
I am unclear why he would have to take over all of NFG to turn NFG into a mining company.  If that was his intent a controlling interest should do the trick.
Comment by suregold1 on May 03, 2022 6:44pm
Possible RG, he could, but given how he talks about this project, you have to ask yourself would he be satisfied with that. Maybe, maybe not! He could take out Palisades interest I guess, but then he is left with retail shareholders who hold less  than 1/3 of the company and I suspect he would not be able to tolerate such a situation. And, at end of day he would be only one financing the mine ...more

If ES were to take NFG private he has no neer to comply with 43 101 exchange requirements.
Comment by smilejollyroger on May 03, 2022 3:56pm
At the very least you will need an EA or EIS before the province even entertains greenlighting a project. To define the environmental impacts you will need to define the type of mining (open pit vs underground or both), location and extents of infrastructure (mill, ore and waste piles, tailings facility, haul roads). And to define those specifics you need to know the geometry of the ore body ...more

Guess you got it all figuired out and have had experience getting projects approved in Newfoundland and Labrador. You have to realize a 43-101 was only brought to eliminate anything like Bre-x. I have invested in a company on the advice of an geologist part of its initial 43-101. They are there to eliminate fraud but the regulators have developed them into something they are not and that ...more
Comment by suregold1 on May 03, 2022 5:39pm
No, disagree, you will need a full mine feasibility study whish is solely for your own planning purposes. not necessarioy a 43-101 as a private company has no responsibility to meet TSX exchange requirements. The province will need a completed environmental study, and that should not be an issue. again, no relationship to resource calculation to meet exchange requirments.

Hum....If you had all the money and TIME in the world you would do mineable resource study  which after a couple of years would then lead you into a pre-feasability study whch would  give you a better understanding of the metalurgy and another 5 million to outside parties  and another 2 years wasted...then finally would do a feasability more like 3 years with  actually ...more

The GGG by no means is challenging Suregold's title of "King of the Conspiracy Theories", but the GGG does have some challenging ideas of what E.S. may be up to. Could it possible that E.S. wants his daughter to not only be the CEO of NFG, but also the Premier of Newfoundland? E.S can probably  do whatever he wants, but one thing is certain, he knows that NFG is in good hands ...more

I will clarify for those who misunderstood anything I have said here. I am not suggesting ES is doing anything other than he has transferred shares in NFG to a "Mining Company" which he owns 100%. I find that a very interesting development and have no clue what ES is about to do if anything. I can speculate here that he may have "thoughts" about taking this private and mining ...more

I believe this debate is over a possible takeover, not mining plans.  I'm not expecting a preliminary resource estimate on Keates until at least the end of this year (probably in the vicinity of 5-10 million ounces). Does Eric have more plans for NFG? - probably.  If he keeps buying more shares from treasury and buying out smaller players, eventually, he will own 51%.  Does he ...more

Ike -- check out SEDI postings from yesterday. ES moved 34M (most  but not all) of his NFG holdings into Sprott Mining Inc. and out of a privately held corporation "2176423 Ontario Ltd." My speculation is this was done for estate planning purposes but also confirms the intent and positioning for a long-term hold on NFG shares should anything happen to ES. However,  as this ...more
