My research has shown that every category of critical materials is and has been available through ex-china sources.
The issue has been about price.
In spite of all the bluster about promoting ex-china production, nothing has been done to this point other than relatively minor efforts by government entities to correct the situation.
It has been mostly left to private industry to make it happen.
Shutting off the flow of graphite and related products by China is in retaliation for the U.S. denying Chinese access to advanced chip technology.
The ban on graphite exports is not set to begin until December 1st.
Plenty of time to change their mind about wether to shut down a profit center
It would be nice to know what is now happening as a result of the threat as regards graphite sales to the west by China.
