Even Mayer Brown had their defending counsel changed a few months back. They had the following posted on their website.

On David Hall-Jones (Linked in) he had everything in past tense, so did he received a huge winning fee and decided to retire. Otherwise, I don't see why anyone would just exit without finalizing a major arbitration case.

- Advised and represented a Canadian oil and gas development company in a UNCITRAL ad hoc arbitration against a major Chinese oil company on disputes arising from a high-stakes CBM and shale gas production sharing contract. The sum in dispute is approximately US$2 billion.
