If they announce NCIB and approve buy back, the BEST way this works if the RET.A actually sell 10% of their shares, its really just a transfer and a 10% buyout IMO not fact.

Great point!  If an investor was just slightly better than average at forecasting earnings they could buy or sell volatility around their core position. Hopefully the stock price does not run up

Not sure that really applies with RET.   Otherwise you could have basically said every other quarter for the past couple of years is a classic example of why you sell before the news release
