Was sold with BHP as a losss making smelter, badly mismanaged. Closed the subsequent IFM as CEO due to mismanagement. Lihir is still recovering from his mismanagement, where he was asked to just go away.
Or maybe the board was actually pretty astute in appointing a scapegoat with no where to go?
