I am quite flabbergasted on how Jordaan was appointed in  the first place. How much reference checking did the board do? Was sold with BHP as a losss making smelter, badly mismanaged. Closed the subsequent IFM as CEO due to mismanagement. Lihir is still recovering from his mismanagement, where he was asked to just go away. Or maybe the board was actually pretty astute in appointing a

Bullseye.   It's astounding how few Superior investors are aware of the track record you just summarized. Note Wellings (then chair) stated Jordaan had 'turned Lihir around'.  I already had read the Newcrest quarterlies, and knew Jordaan IMO missed his numbers, so Wellings's statement was the first whiff I got of the coming problem.  Wish I'd reacted
