cash dividends in an amount of $0.04583 per Preferred share to yield 5.5% per annum on the $10 repayment amount and to return the $10 repayment amount to their holders on the termination date. Its investment objectives with respect to Class A Shares are to provide holders with regular monthly cash distribution targeted to be $0.10 per Class A share and return the original issue price to their holders on the termination date. The net asset value per unit must remain above the required $15 per unit threshold for distributions to be declared. Its investment manager is Quadravest Capital Management Inc.

DFN End of Month estimated NAV...
After updating all holdings and recalculating, as close as possible, the number of outstanding shares and the cash amount, my spreadsheet says that the NAV, clear of the upcoming dividends, is ~$15.08

NAV February 29
~$15.16. Premium: ~$0.11. The NAV closed ~1% above the payment threshold. Solid bank earnings and favourable inflation data can be credited with helping the NAV by ~$0.14 since the last update.

DFN unit nav to Feb29 = approx; $15.15 after dist.
So DFN had a gain of about 17 cents before distributions were figured in. After collected divvies, the commons would have a value of about $5.15 ,, a little safer than it looked a few days ago

Market has been focussed on rates and inflation for almost 3 years now. I believe this may swing back to geo-political events again if Trump takes office and he follows through on pulling out of NATA.

DFN unit nav to Feb 28 = approx: $15.08 after distributions.
With collected divvies DFN gained 11 cents in UNIT NAV since Feb 15th udpate. Distributions are .145 cents to commons and preferreds so $15.23 before distributions was the number. Commons

The reality is, "owning" the commons of any split is not a viable investment for "most" people. Unless one can nail near the bottom (very difficult) it is too risky to hold

My post was an answer to mouserman. If you read his comparison of the 2 stocks he basically said owning DFN is not a good thing.
