If they thought another bid was coming... 1-they could sell accumulated shares at a profit 2-they have more shares to vote infavor of the deal (for themselves or a bid 19 to 21 is cheap fot them.

I agree - the Euro's have deep pockets and if they enter the North American market the comps. would be in for a price war. Always IMHO

I can't imagine a North American operator allowing a foreign operator into the market without a fight, at the very least you would force them to pay more for the asset!
