Deep thoughts

For those of you who do not work for the company, and are only interested things like "facts", I'm sorry you had to wade through the multiple pages of gibberish that have been posted over the past couple of days.

However, this should provide some more insight into why CSFS is in its current predicament.  Yes, there have been some poor decisions made by the brass in Edmonton.  One of those decisions was to stop seeking out quality front line staff, and to pay below living wage.  CSFS associates are frequently minimum wage employees, and the 'managers' - really, just glorified customer service reps - are frequently not much higher.  What might come as a surprise is the exceptionally high percentage of CSFS associates that actually borrow from their employer at the exact same rates and fees as the general public.  It's really quite astounding.

As you can see by the writing skills displayed over the past couple of days, these wages are not bringing in or retaining the type of people CSFS needs to compete.  One poor associate cannot even spell 'bankruptcy' - perhaps her spellcheck is broken?

As for Ms. Ataloss: I feel bad that you will soon be without a job at your age.  Please understand, though, that you have 'helped' precious few of 'your' clients.  Perhaps 1% of these people were bailed out of some sort of predicament by Cash Store's, ahem, generosity.  For the vast majority, however, the Cash Store's services just put them in a deeper hole.

spyguy200: Thanks for pulling back the curtain on the military secret that is the regional retreat.  Without your courage, outsiders would not know that CSFS is the first and only company to ever treat its management team to a getaway.  Hopefully an investigation will be launched to look into this largesse.

Now, let's get back to the conspiracy theories, poor grammar, and broken shift keys that are the trademarks of a good CSFS associate.

Anything of value to add to this conversation?  I'd hazard to guess that if you're an executive for this company that I have more education than you. Obviously they don't hire the best and brightest in that dept either. The only thing you just proved is how condescending you are, and that's about it.

Deep thoughts...we all know that this is one of the "arrogant about to be broke and jobless idiot that ruined thecompany"and yes treating your management to orgies where you know who pulled out his penis and pissed on people, is exactyly what we have all been missing! Yeah I know all about it as a matter of fact...don't be too sure I was not there! But if you want to talk about less ...more

WOW regionalretreat that shut you up eh big mouth? I will tell everyone a little of everything I know which is alot everytime you say something stupid! The people on the front lines are the only reason why this company made money! Maids scrubbing toilets made more than your staff at CSFS what does that tell people about thekind of product you were serving? If anyone of you could have done the work ...more

I will tell everyone a little of everything I know which is alot everytime you say something stupid!   Great.  I'm not who you think I am.   I'm enjoying the gripe session going on here; unfortunately, the manner in which it is being done is indicative of the level of discourse and critical thought that takes place at the lower levels of CSFS.   For what it ...more

RR I have had the pleasure of meeting some very fantastic educated employees with CSFS. It would suprise you how many have post secondary degrees.  Some have been managers in banks but were victims of job redundancy. In some cases people have been forced into these positions because they live in rural communities where there are low employment rates, one of the best examples I can give you is ...more

"I cannot understand why you would trash so many people of whom you know nothing of their educational backgrounds. " First hand experience.  If an associate can't locate their shift or apostrophe keys, they're probably not suited to assess the suitability of a loan applicant.  Which, of course, is why CSFS stopped allowing their staff to make decisions, and just ...more

Oh I am so sorry my computer is broken, all kinds of keys missing I cannot afford to buy a new one based on my welfare salary that this company pays me!!!

Spy, you are not far off and you know it. The staff makes, in most urban centres, less than what is considered a living wage. Managers, if single, can afford an apartment or a car, but not both. An incredible number of the staff borrow from "staff branch", a company office that loans to the employees - disgusting. CSF should be the poster company for what NOT to do to staff and customers

In a recent seminar I attended I learned the following things: . Companies with happy employees are 3x more profitable than companies with unhappy employees. (Perhaps you should take a look at some personal development, Regional Retreat. Clearly you are not as "educated" as you seem to think.)  .  Work is moving toward 'value based' organizations. (Clearly, you are not ...more

Well Sickofwondering, let's wait for it....the most RR will get from your inciteful message is a spell check! LOL Me  or is it "I"  (I am sure RR will let me know because clearly his degree is in English not business) on the other hand, loved it!
Comment by sickofwondering on Apr 11, 2014 1:42pm
True that.  I'm sure RR will let me know where I went wrong grammar wise. Nonetheless, everything I said is true. The core values of this company are a joke and are not adhered to from the top down...  I for one am waiting with bated breath to see where this is going to go. I'd love to know if I should start planning for a job loss or not.

SOW Well let me say at the end of the day you will all be able to find salaries that pay you minimum wage or a couple of more dollars an hour, but you know what is fun to watch...people that make over $100,000 going down to $1800 a month. Millionaires having their asses sued off and be called out for all of their criminal activity. You see sickofwondering, karma is coming for all of them ...more

That's quite an attack.  Allow me to clarify some things. 1. I do not claim to work at CSFS head office. 2. I did, at some point, work in a branch; I was front line staff. 3. I haven't referenced my education. My main point here, while having some fun mocking the utterly ridiculous and borderline illiterate posts of the past few days, is that Cash Store's decline is - at ...more

RR the postings do not prove a damn thing about someone`s ability!!! Why the hell would I care what you or anyone thinks of my spelling when the topic is job loss and criminal activity! Hear hear!!  Great post. I too am sick of reading this ignorant peraon's posts. Perhaps we will finally shut him/her up. Nobody likes to be kicked when they're down and any emotionally intelligent person would understand not to do such a thing..  Bravo to you!!

Shyguy - it isn't even worth acknowledging an individual who 1. degrades an individual for spelling and grammar errors when he/she themselves don't realize that alot is NOT a word. Even my 8 year old grand child knows this. 2. Who is just trying to get our goats. ATALOSS: if you really wanted to help your customers in Ontario, you would tell them NOT to pay at all. They have been taken for a ride by CSF. In the collapse, they will not be pursued for the debt. Nothing will happen to them if they stop paying. Do the right thing for THEM.
Comment by ataloss on Apr 11, 2014 5:08pm
That is a tad difficult when your regionals have access to padding their accounts...
Comment by destroyed on Apr 11, 2014 5:29pm
A - not every customer can be padded, the rules have changed on that B - the ones that really need the relief usually walk in to pay. While you are still there, DO THE RIGHT THING

Customers pay people they like right?? No. Customers pay the companies that offer the biggest carrot. CSFS will always be the last priority payment because it's not as though CSFS has the ability to affect the credit of most clients, nor can they repossess property or shut off a utility. Of course, the payday competitors get paid ahead of CSFS because the payout/reborrow is more advantageous ...more

While I think that the last line was not needed, the points are good. Managers make less than $35,000 per year and Associates less than $12.00 per hour. Just enough to barely survive. The CSF business model was/is clear: take advantage of everyone they can
