LFE unit NAv to April 23 = approx: $14.61

Only saw a gain of about a penny today... and LFE commons of  course trading at a discount here. However buys under 4 $ are going to look really good by the middle of MAy..

LFE in realtime @ 14.60 UNIT NAV...

Bounced up nicely as I suspected it would. In May all 4 lifecos report, and shorts who drove them down, will be covering.

LFE up 5 % today

So how is DFN doing?
Post by mousermanon Apr 22, 2024 10:45am

So far lifecos outperforming banks again today

I suspected this would come back up quickly.... didnt get in at the bottom tho..midmonth May is a long ways away. But capital gains from the bottom already good...

LFE unit nav to April 19 = approx; $14.44

Spreadsheet showing a gain of 5 cents since the midmonth update. Hoping for great Q reports from the big 4. US lifecos/insurers also had a really good day, altho they are a small part of the fund.

LFE unit nav to April 18 = approx; $14.38

So almost flat since the update on the 15th... and was a brutal selloff in the lifecos in early April. All 4 came back and moved up today.. maybe a sign that the upcoming Q reports will be good.

RE:RE:No surprise

When quadravest lists the nav as of the 15th, it's going to be around 14.30, and it continues to drop. This needs a fork stuck in it. Done.

RE:No surprise

There is a huge risk owning a split that pays sporatically. Once it stops paying, the share price tanks and it can take months to recover from the negative capital loss. This is why it receives a ...more

No surprise

This one pays for 2 months and then looses 20% in a couple weeks. These ones that have little to no safety are not worth it.

RE:RE:RE:Just a gut feeling:

I owned it during covid for around $1.40 and sold in the $2's. No distribution but a nice cap gain. That's how I like to buy this one, when it's beaten up and sell on an upswing. If I get ...more

Fool me twice, shame on me. Once again I "wished" that LFE would continue its uptrend and once again I was wrong. Perhaps I'll learn next time LFE begins paying? Feel free to cue me with ...more
