Seems the market is picking on the lifecos for some reason... altho i think you are right about the exposure to the fires. It is not as great as many are believing. Could be just general profittaking ...more

UNIT NAV to AUg 21 was about $15.28... so very little breathing room. A bounce in the markets could make them safe enough for another month. Not sure the exposure to the record fire season is as big ...more

The NAV of the LCS portfolio dropped today by 0.72%, so the drop in LCS of 2.6% is really disproportionate, with volume of only 23K, Maybe some investors are afraid that the NAV will drop below the ...more

Smoke from the fires is also  causing health issues, and perhaps that is part of the negative for those  lifecos with group health insurance . IN BC , in many jurisdictions, the air quality ...more

By looking through the 4 company's websites it appears the only iA offers homeowner's insurance and the remaining 3 do not. Unless I missed something..

Showing a loss of 29 cents TODAY, after the update yesterday. Another day like that and LCS misses distributions to commons for the first time since the month of January. Paid out 7 straight ...more

I am of the opinion that the market sees  Canadian LIFECOS as being at risk because of the increased probability of claims from fires is going to reduce profits, and we may see a bad Q. This ...more
